Mechanical/Aerospace Project Engineer: Rolling Stock I-II – Clearfield, UT (Full-Time)

General Description & Duties
This position is with the ES3 Rolling Stock team (aircraft wheel/brakes/tires, antiskid and steering systems) of mechanical and electrical engineers along with logisticians who support research and development, test and evaluation as well as qualification/certification of new wheel, brake, tire, antiskid and steering configurations. This position will be surrounded with experts in their fields who consistently impact aerospace engineering in both military and commercial projects that surpass industry norms. The potential also exists for you to be an inventor of new design and process patents. You will be mentored by one or more Licensed Professional Engineers (PEs) and as such you will be on-track to expand your body of knowledge and become a leader within your skillset.

This position will be based out of our Clearfield, Utah engineering office. This facility boasts private offices, more than 75 engineers, scientists, logisticians, and technicians, along with proximity to our 120,000 square foot aerospace center with R&D, laboratory, prototyping, testing, and production capabilities. ES3 also has facilities in downtown San Diego, California; Warner Robins, Georgia; and Midwest City, Oklahoma. - Drawing and CAD Model Development in SolidWorks
- Test Fixture Design
- Conduct Trade Studies
- Determine Interface Requirements and Design Modifications to Enable New Components to Interface with Existing Systems
- Qualification and Flight Test Plan Development and Reporting
- Instrumentation Equipment Design
- Adept Report & Technical Writing Skills
- Hardware-in-the-Loop (HITL) Simulation Skills
- Proficient with MATLAB
- Requirements Analysis
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Education & Experience Required
- B.S in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an ABET school of Engineering
- 0-10 Years’ Experience in Aerospace/Mechanical Design and Analysis or Related Field
Other Requirements
- Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.
- As a condition of employment, candidates will be required to participate in a background investigation and be able to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance and a DOD-issued Common Access Card (CAC).
- Ability to travel as required (less than 20%)
