General Summary

ES3 is seeking an innovative mid-level electrical engineer for our downtown San Diego office to participate in cutting edge development of a new suite of products for the aerospace industry.  ES3 has a solid presence in landing gear system design, development, and deployment.  We are a fast paced and rapidly growing mid-sized aerospace and technology company well-positioned in the landing gear industry and successfully expanding into avionics.  You will be joining a small group of electrical and aerospace engineers who have recently succeeded in developing and fielding flight certified avionic systems for our customers.

You will enjoy a wonderful work environment that includes a private office with a great view at the ES3 corporate headquarters.  ES3 offers relocation assistance for this position.  You will report to a respected and highly accomplished senior electrical engineer and work with a small team of experienced electrical and aerospace engineers all located in one of our Utah facilities but not co-located with you in our San Diego office.  Good communication and coordination skills are a must.  You will support cradle-to-grave development and certification of ES3 proprietary avionic equipment for a variety of military and commercial aerospace customers worldwide. You must be an effective electrical engineer able to positively contribute to our pleasant and productive work environment.  This position requires experience in multiple areas of aerospace engineering focused in a production development environment.  The successful candidate will be involved in all activities from R&D, design, procurement, manufacturing and production, quality assurance, and customer satisfaction.  Strong knowledge and experience utilizing engineering tools such as Altium Designer, to designing embedded systems from the R&D phase through manufacturing.  Strong knowledge of interfacing with embedded systems for data acquisition, and embedded displays is greatly desired.  The position will also require great communication and organizational skills.  The successful candidate will be a responsible professional, self-motivated leader who can thrive in an ISO9001:2015/AS9100D environment.

Education and Experience Required
      • Minimum of Bachelor of Science Degree, Electrical or Computer Engineering
      • Minimum of 5 years post-graduation design experience in an engineering and AS9100 production facility
      • Experience working with embedded software
      • 3-5 years of direct use with Altium Designer (preferred)
      • Successful completion of product development from R&D to production (preferred)
Other Requirements
      • Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen
      • As a condition of employment, candidates will be required to participate in a background investigation and be able to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
      • Strong working knowledge of creating schematics for the design of new products
      • Robust familiarity with Embedded Displays
      • Designing for MIL-STD-461 compliance, and other MIL-STD and DO-160 Testing
      • Highly organized and detail oriented with ability to adhere to written procedures
      • Review of highly technical documentation possessing strong analytical skills
      • Must be able to work independently, multitask and prioritize
      • Excellent communication skills and excel in a team environment
      • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
      • Working knowledge of ISO/AS9100 Quality Management Systems, standards and compliance expectations
      • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices
