Aircraft Technician/Machinist - Warner Robins, GA (Full-Time)

General Summary

Under supervision of Southeast Operations Director, responsible for day-to-day operational project activities and maintenance technician tasks for Georgia Technical Operations Center (GTOC). Responsible for on-time delivery to customers executing production schedules as well as communicating with operators, management and engineering. Perform specialized Technician duties to include hands on aircraft maintenance and operating machinery. Work with Engineering and Technicians to identify and establish process improvements, cost reductions, time standards, technical manuals and repair and overhaul of aircraft and their components. The position will require the set up and operation of Lathe, Mill, Grinder, and/or other NC/CNC machines to perform and produce precision metal parts and materials such as cutting, drilling, milling, boring, grinding as specified by Job Traveler, blueprints, drawing, templates or layout. The successful candidate will be proficient at GD&T, capable of thriving in an ISO environment, be responsible and professional.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Fabricate parts and accomplish repair and overhaul (airframe and powerplant disciplines) aircraft technician and machinist activities related to U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy aircraft, including vertical lift aircraft. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Must be familiar with military and/or commercial aircraft technical manuals, technical orders, modification work orders and blue prints.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and rudimentary drawings.
  • Reviews engineering drawings, illustrations, and written/verbal correspondence to plan the fabrication sequence to fabricate parts to specifications in a timely manner.
  • Must be able to hold close tolerances, including set up of tooling and materials.
  • Must be able to operate NC and CNC mills, Lathes, and Grinders including set up and selection of tooling and materials.
  • Must be able to program CNC lathes / mills / Grinders including set up and selection of tooling and materials.
  • Coordinates with project engineer personnel throughout the project, and provide technical assistance to project engineers, contractors and factory representatives.
  • Must use tools and equipment associated with a sheet metal and fabrication shop, such as protractors, calipers, pitch gauges, crimping tools/machines, forming machines, power shear and brake, heli-arc welding machines, saws and drilling presses, etc.
  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices
  • Must be able to apply knowledge of ISO 9001/AS9100C Quality systems

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to interact with customer levels and all management levels.
  • Must be a self-starter, detail oriented, possess excellent organizational skills, and be able to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Experience with CAM software such as MasterCam
  • Experience with Microsoft Office: Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word. Outlook and Project strongly preferred.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Associates Degree and/or 2 years Technical/Trade school training or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience in Machining and Part Fabrication.
  • Electroplating experience is a plus.
  • Non Destructive Testing (MPI, FPI, etc.) level 2 or 3 certification is a plus.
  • A&P license is a plus.
  • Ability to perform sheet metal repairs to a variety of aircraft, possess an in-depth knowledge of sheet metal materials and repair techniques is a plus.
  • SGML and/or XML authoring is a plus.

Welder - Clearfield, UT (Full-Time)

General Summary

ES3 is seeking a Welder to perform fitting, cutting, welding, and soldering metal components made from various alloys such as; aluminum, carbon steel, stainless steel, nickel and lead. Fabricates or repairs products according to layouts, blueprints, or work orders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Read blueprints and work with tight tolerances, complicated setups, and materials such as non-ferrous, nickel, and lead.
  • Read and understand mechanical drawings with standard tolerance designations.
  • Fabricate, weld and manufacture conformal anode fixtures for use in plating operations.
  • Cut, position, and clamp together components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding.
  • Position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides, and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools.
  • Work from blueprints, engineering sketches, charts or work orders.
  • Lay out and mark points on parts or subassemblies using rule, square, scribe or templates, and calipers.
  • Weld metal parts together, using both gas welding, brazing, soldering and any combination of MIG and TIG processes.
  • Perform related tasks such as oxy-acetylene or plasma cutting, grinding, and soldering.
  • Inspect completed work for conformance to specifications using micrometers or calipers.
  • Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Work overtime as needed to meet production demands.
  • May be trained to do prototype plating on landing gear parts as required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Completion of a Trade School, Apprenticeship program, Military School, or On the Job Training Program in Fabrication and/or Welding.
  • 3-7 years of related experience, Aerospace Industry a plus.
  • Experience and strong ability in reading blueprints and working with tight tolerances, complicated setups, and materials such as non-ferrous, nickel, and lead.
  • Thorough and demonstrated experience/understanding of design and dimensional characteristics.
  • Demonstrated experience performing intricate detailed work and the use of odd materials.
  • Must be able to read and understand mechanical drawings with standard tolerance designations.
  • Experience and thorough knowledge of all materials used in repair of Aircraft and their components a plus.
  • Able to read weld/assembly blueprints with an understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerance callouts.
  • Knowledge of sheet metal pattern layout, geometry, and other necessary mathematics.
  • Knowledge and workability, content and chemical properties of ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
  • Able to weld ferrous and non ferrous materials, corrosion resistant steels, copper, monel, lead, brass or their alloys, in various sizes and shapes in overhaul, modification, repair and fabrication.
  • Machining experience a plus.
  • Weld all assemblies into completed components using correct welding processes.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, adhere to written procedures and experience with ISO/AS9100C requirements, standards, and compliance issues.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and communication skills to effectively interface with all levels of staff, customers, and government representatives.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Project Engineer - Clearfield, UT (Full-Time)

General Summary

Responsible for performing a variety of mechanical engineering functions to include, but not limited to, classical stress analysis, finite element analysis, modeling, aircraft system level requirements analysis, and fatigue analysis on a variety of military platforms. This position also requires the candidate to be able to read and produce detailed drawings for component and system level designs. This is a multi-faceted position that requires a variety of engineering skills. Applicant must be a good problem solver, be self-motivated and work well in a team-oriented environment.

Thermal Spray Technician

General Summary

Responsible for performing Plasma and HVOF (High Velocity Oxygen Fuel) thermal spray coating operations and other work as assigned by the Spray Lead or Operations Manager in a timely manner. Will work in an ISO/AS9100 environment and follow shop work instructions, process specifications, and work within local, state and federal environmental, health and safety programs to ensure employee safety.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review job folder to verify areas to be masked, cleaned and coated. Confirm all requirements prior to start of work
  • Perform Plasma and HVOF thermal spray coating application per work instructions
  • Record all applicable data per work instructions
  • Ask Spray Lead if unsure of work assignments
  • Report damaged parts to Spray Lead or Supervisor
  • Report parts of poor quality to the Spray Lead or Supervisor
  • Obtain the materials necessary to perform job - from the Spray Lead if necessary
  • Appropriate and accurate recording of materials used per job
  • Appropriate use and maintenance of mask materials
  • Keep the work area neat and orderly at all times
  • Return any supplies not used to appropriate area
  • Report to the Spray Lead or Supervisor when work assignment is completed
  • Assist in post process/receiving or anywhere else directed by Spray Lead or General Manager
  • Provide general part degreasing, masking and grit blasting
  • Work with Quality Management on manufacturing issues, inspection criteria, audits and resolution of findings
  • Maintain strict document control standards and quality policy compliance
  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices
  • Must be able to apply knowledge and appreciation of ISO/AS9100 Quality systems
  • Perform other duties as requested

Aircraft Maintenance - Clearfield, UT (Full-Time)

ES3 is looking for Mechanics experienced in Aircraft Structural Repairs. Our initial focus will be on F-16 Aircraft Repair and F-16 Wing Overhaul. We will perform Wing Overhaul work in our Clearfield, Utah facility. We also anticipate sending field teams world-wide to work on Aircraft. The Mechanics could be dedicated to the In-House Overhaul or the Field Team Work or a combination of both. Mechanics that choose to only perform Field Team Work would be able to travel from wherever they currently reside to the work site.

ES3 is not currently hiring Mechanics at this time. We are only trying to locate a pool of potential applicants.
