Network and Computer Systems Administrator I

General Summary

The Network and Computer Systems Administrator positions at ES3 offers an exciting opportunity to master a wide variety of computer, network, and system administration skills. Maintaining the ES3 Support Help Desk allows for skill development in Windows domain administration, Unix/Linux/Mac server administration, Windows and Mac operating systems, Cisco network router and firewall administration, as well as a wide variety of hardware issue repair and troubleshooting. A qualified applicant will be willing and able to support all aspects of IT at all of the ES3 locations


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

Demonstrate a minimum of an intermediate skill level administrating, using and supporting the Mac OS X operating system and Apple hardware

  • Demonstrate a basic skill level working administrating Mac OS X (particularly 10.10 and 10.11)
  • Demonstrate a minimum of an intermediate skill level administrating Windows Servers and Windows desktop OS
  • Demonstrate experience in data network wiring
  • Demonstrate a minimum of an intermediate skill level in DNS, DHCP, Active Directory or LDAP, and file server permissions administration
  • Demonstrate a minimum of an intermediate skill level in network, desktop, and server security
  • Demonstrate a high level of troubleshooting and issue resolution skillset

Education/Experience Required

  • Degree in related discipline a plus

Quality Specialist - Clearfield, UT


We are looking for an individual that has considerable knowledge of Quality Assurance functions, and is very detail oriented.   The QA Specialist will perform various inspection processes depending on contract and customer requirements. They must have excellent personal skills while interfacing with customers, DCMA and Government representatives.  Candidates must be adaptable to changing work assignments and environments. The ideal candidate will have excellent understanding of the aerospace industry.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  •  Inspect in-process and completed products as well as performing FAI's (First Article Inspection).
  •  Inspect received product to verify adherence to engineering and purchase requirements.  
  •  Be able to identify structural, dimensional and visual defects
  •  Use of various measuring devices, and manage the Calibration Control system. 
  •  Understand and use blueprints and technical specification documents
  • Document defects in the company’s Non-Conformance system and assist in determination of Root Causes and Implement Corrective Actions for defects  to prevent defect recurrence
  • Audits the facility to Company safety, and process standards
  • Audits to AS9100, ISO9001, ISO17025 and NADCAP standards
  • Documents audit findings and records in Quality database system
  • May be called on to help create Job Travelers and ensure all requirements are implemented.  Review completed Job Travelers for completeness and accuracy. 
  • Spearhead Continuous Improvement activities using SPC and other improvement tools
  • Communicates well with leadership, Team members and other departments

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Possess working knowledge of inspection tools, equipment, methods and instrumentation (including CMM electronic inspection devices)
  • Experience with using Microsoft Office: Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Outlook and Project strongly preferred
  • Experience in performing process audit
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to interact with customers and all levels of management 
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos; ability to write correspondence; ability to effectively communicate and present information 
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to interpret graphs

Education and Experience Required

  • 2+ years experience in Quality Assurance.  (Metal Parts inspection) preferred
  • Experience in interpreting and understanding all aspects of QMS documentation
  • Experience in an AS9100 or ISO9001 production environment
  • NADCAP and ISO17025 QA experience is a plus
  • Certified QA auditor training is a plus

Machinist/Programming/Fabrication Specialist - Clearfield, UT

General Summary

ES3 is currently recruiting a CNC Machinist/Grinding Specialist to support multiple programs and long term growth at our Materials Research and Development Center (MRDC) located in Clearfield, Utah. The position will require writing simple to complex programs on CNC Grinders, Lathes, and Mills using software systems such as Mastercam. The position also requires the incumbent to be skilled at setting up and operating of conventional Lathes, Mills, and/or other machines used for cutting, drilling, bending, and boring to produce precision metal parts and fixtures as specified on travelers, blueprints, drawing, templates or layout.  The successful candidate will be proficient at GD&T, capable of thriving in an ISO/AS 9100 environment, be responsible and professional.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Must be able to understand and read engineering prints including geometric dimensioning and tolerances
  • Reviews and interprets engineering drawings, illustrations, and written/verbal correspondence to plan the fabrication sequence to fabricate parts to close tolerance specifications in a timely manner
  • Must be able to operate NC and CNC grinders, lathes and 3 - 5 axis mills. This includes programming simple to complex projects ,set up of tools and materials
  • Utilize precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometer, height gauges, etc. 
  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices
  • Must be able to apply knowledge and appreciation of ISO/AS9100 Quality systems

  • Draft Purchase Requests, Purchase Orders, Change Orders
  • Send purchase order copies to suppliers and to departments originating requests

Tooling & Fixture Design Engineer (Senior Level) - Warner Robins, GA (Full-Time)

General Summary

The Tooling Design Engineer is responsible for creating and improving tooling and fixtures to be used in both aircraft repair and overhaul production tasks.  This engineer will largely facilitate engineering directives for related sheet metal, composite and machine fabrication to accept those tools. This is a great opportunity to work in a cross functional engineering environment while collaborating with structural repair & overhaul, quality and production engineers and maintenance personnel to meet project goals and directives. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design tooling and fixtures, special machinery and/or equipment required for repair and overhaul production purposes of large military aircraft.
  • Design, install, qualify and troubleshoot production machinery and test equipment
  • Write machine specifications for the procurement of production machinery and test equipment
  • Work with standard principles of tool, jig and fixture designs and automation processes for various machine tool production operations. 
  • Prepare workable drawings or sketches.  Provide technical advice and assistance to aircraft mechanics, welders, painters.
  • Collaborate with structural repair and overhaul engineers to achieve desired production goals.
  • Interact with the operational workforce as well as other engineers, manufacturing and management personnel
  • Read and interpret drawing, specifications, and contractual requirements of production systems and fabricated items
  • Support multiple programs and manage priorities

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Highly advance level use of SolidWorks for solid modeling concept and design
  • Technical Writing, SGML and/or XML authoring a plus

Senior Financial Analyst - San Diego, CA (Full-Time)


ES3 is a socially responsible, high-end engineering firm specializing in the design, test, and fabrication of aircraft components and systems, (2) the development of advanced high strength and corrosion resistant coatings, and (3) the application of computational methods for structural dynamic modeling.  ES3 has facilities in California, Utah, and Georgia. ES3 has an immediate opening in their corporate office location for a Senior Financial Analyst.


General Summary

The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for ensuring policy and procedurecompliance, audit readiness, oversight of corporate revenue reporting activities and critical and confidential aspects of company finance. This is a senior level accounting  position that will participate in a wide variety of special and assigned projects requiring communication with colleagues, executive management, clients and others in a professional and timely manner.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide back up for Controller as organizational demands dictate.  
  • Manage project control reporting activities by preparing and analyzing ETC's/EAC's and provide monthly reporting to Corporate and Senior Management. 
  • Prepare and maintain weekly cash flow forecast for Corporate Management.
  • Provide detailed support and analysis of corporate revenue forecast for Corporate Management.
  • Assist in the preparation of the Incurred Cost Proposal (ICE) for management review.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly indirect rate calculations.
  • Assist in maintaining, enhancing and/or developing Accounting department policy and procedures.
  • Assist in monthly/year-end close activities.
  • Assist in the oversight of all primary bookkeeping as it pertains to a second corporate entity "ES3 PLG" which includes revenue recognition, progress payment calculations, AR and WAWF entries for shipped goods.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly Accounts Receivable Excel invoices, capturing labor hours, materials, subcontracts and odc's for submission to various Government and Commercial customers.
  • Oversee payroll processing, submission, payroll journal entries and reporting activities. 
  • QuickBooks review of payroll reporting and review of related spreadsheets. 
  • Assign and maintain charge codes in GHG timecard system.
  • Maintain audit readiness through oversight of general ledger activities.
  • Provide Audit Support in response to DCAA, state sales tax and property tax entities.  
  • Support semi-annual Financial Capability audit conducted by Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA).
  • Prepare and submit annual Government mandated Contractor Manpower Reporting Application (CMRA).
  • Complete  monthly shop allocation and labor accruals.
  • Support Accounts Payable, Purchasing and Ad Hoc reporting on an as needed basis
  • Any other accounting special or assigned projects as needed

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics, minimum of 10 years of professional experience of in Government accounting environment 
  • Strong understanding of Government Accounting concepts, i.e. allowable and unallowable costs, direct and indirect costs, overhead, G&A, fringe and M&S pools.
  • Engage in critical thinking
  • Problem Solving /Analysis and organizational skills
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office, (Word and Excel) computer software, QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions. Intermediate knowledge of WAWF, Gov Pay, GSA Finance a plus

Aircraft Technician - Warner Robins, GA (Full-Time)

General Summary

Under direct supervision of Southeast Operations Director/Aircraft Systems Manager, responsible for day-to-day operational project activities and maintenance technician tasks for Robins Air Force Base. Responsible for on-time delivery to customers executing production schedules as well as communicating with operators, management and engineering. Perform specialized Technician duties to include hands on aircraft maintenance and operating machinery. Work with Engineering and Technicians to identify and establish process improvements, cost reductions, time standards, technical manuals and repair and overhaul of aircraft and their components, including avionics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Develop manuals and accomplish repair and overhaul (airframe, powerplant and avionics disciplines) aircraft technician activities related to U.S. Air Force aircraft, including vertical lift aircraft. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ability to fabricate, assemble, and install prototype equipment on a large variety of aircraft, ranging from single-engine airplanes to complex, multi-engine turbojets, and helicopters.
  • Must be familiar with military technical manuals, technical orders, modification work orders and blue prints.
  • Must have ability to make repair and modifications to existing airframes.
  • Coordinates with project engineer personnel throughout the project, and provide technical assistance to project engineers, contractors and factory representatives.
  • Must perform sheet metal repairs to a variety of aircraft, possess an in-depth knowledge of sheet metal materials and repair techniques.
  • Must use tools and equipment associated with a sheet metal shop, such as protractors, calipers, pitch gauges, crimping tools/machines, forming machines, gas and heli-arc welding machines, lathes, milling machines, saws and drilling presses.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and rudimentary drawings.
  • May be required to accompany aircraft on project flights away from the work site and perform aircraft maintenance at various locations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Entry level to 20+ years of experience in aircraft repair and overhaul. C-5, C-130, F-15, C-17, UH-1 and HH-60 experience is a plus. Avionics experience is a plus.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to interact with customer levels and all management levels
  • Must be a self-starter, detail oriented, possess excellent organizational skills, and be able to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Excellent computer skills using Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project, Word). SGML and/or XML authoring is a plus.

Welder - Clearfield, UT (Full-Time)

General Summary

ES3 is seeking a Welder to perform fitting, cutting, welding, and soldering metal components made from various alloys such as; aluminum, carbon steel, stainless steel, nickel and lead. Fabricates or repairs products according to layouts, blueprints, or work orders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Read blueprints and work with tight tolerances, complicated setups, and materials such as non-ferrous, nickel, and lead.
  • Read and understand mechanical drawings with standard tolerance designations.
  • Fabricate, weld and manufacture conformal anode fixtures for use in plating operations.
  • Cut, position, and clamp together components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding.
  • Position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides, and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools.
  • Work from blueprints, engineering sketches, charts or work orders.
  • Lay out and mark points on parts or subassemblies using rule, square, scribe or templates, and calipers.
  • Weld metal parts together, using both gas welding, brazing, soldering and any combination of MIG and TIG processes.
  • Perform related tasks such as oxy-acetylene or plasma cutting, grinding, and soldering.
  • Inspect completed work for conformance to specifications using micrometers or calipers.
  • Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Work overtime as needed to meet production demands.
  • May be trained to do prototype plating on landing gear parts as required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Completion of a Trade School, Apprenticeship program, Military School, or On the Job Training Program in Fabrication and/or Welding.
  • 3-7 years of related experience, Aerospace Industry a plus.
  • Experience and strong ability in reading blueprints and working with tight tolerances, complicated setups, and materials such as non-ferrous, nickel, and lead.
  • Thorough and demonstrated experience/understanding of design and dimensional characteristics.
  • Demonstrated experience performing intricate detailed work and the use of odd materials.
  • Must be able to read and understand mechanical drawings with standard tolerance designations.
  • Experience and thorough knowledge of all materials used in repair of Aircraft and their components a plus.
  • Able to read weld/assembly blueprints with an understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerance callouts.
  • Knowledge of sheet metal pattern layout, geometry, and other necessary mathematics.
  • Knowledge and workability, content and chemical properties of ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
  • Able to weld ferrous and non ferrous materials, corrosion resistant steels, copper, monel, lead, brass or their alloys, in various sizes and shapes in overhaul, modification, repair and fabrication.
  • Machining experience a plus.
  • Weld all assemblies into completed components using correct welding processes.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, adhere to written procedures and experience with ISO/AS9100C requirements, standards, and compliance issues.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and communication skills to effectively interface with all levels of staff, customers, and government representatives.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Thermal Spray Technician

General Summary

Responsible for performing Plasma and HVOF (High Velocity Oxygen Fuel) thermal spray coating operations and other work as assigned by the Spray Lead or Operations Manager in a timely manner. Will work in an ISO/AS9100 environment and follow shop work instructions, process specifications, and work within local, state and federal environmental, health and safety programs to ensure employee safety.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review job folder to verify areas to be masked, cleaned and coated. Confirm all requirements prior to start of work
  • Perform Plasma and HVOF thermal spray coating application per work instructions
  • Record all applicable data per work instructions
  • Ask Spray Lead if unsure of work assignments
  • Report damaged parts to Spray Lead or Supervisor
  • Report parts of poor quality to the Spray Lead or Supervisor
  • Obtain the materials necessary to perform job - from the Spray Lead if necessary
  • Appropriate and accurate recording of materials used per job
  • Appropriate use and maintenance of mask materials
  • Keep the work area neat and orderly at all times
  • Return any supplies not used to appropriate area
  • Report to the Spray Lead or Supervisor when work assignment is completed
  • Assist in post process/receiving or anywhere else directed by Spray Lead or General Manager
  • Provide general part degreasing, masking and grit blasting
  • Work with Quality Management on manufacturing issues, inspection criteria, audits and resolution of findings
  • Maintain strict document control standards and quality policy compliance
  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices
  • Must be able to apply knowledge and appreciation of ISO/AS9100 Quality systems
  • Perform other duties as requested

Aircraft Maintenance - Clearfield, UT (Full-Time)

ES3 is looking for Mechanics experienced in Aircraft Structural Repairs. Our initial focus will be on F-16 Aircraft Repair and F-16 Wing Overhaul. We will perform Wing Overhaul work in our Clearfield, Utah facility. We also anticipate sending field teams world-wide to work on Aircraft. The Mechanics could be dedicated to the In-House Overhaul or the Field Team Work or a combination of both. Mechanics that choose to only perform Field Team Work would be able to travel from wherever they currently reside to the work site.
